Another year in the bag. No, we couldn’t resist a cheeky retail anecdote to end the year!

2021 has been a transformative year for the retail sector; since 2019, our industry has undergone a period of upheaval and revolution. To name a few, elements such as changing consumer behaviour, rapid omnichannel must-haves and challenging economic conditions have all altered how retail destinations operate and engage with their customers. With this in mind, we have worked even harder this year to ensure that both our clients and the Coniq team successfully move and excel through these changes.

Our Family grew #Coniqers

Coniq wouldn’t be Coniq without our lovely Coniqers!

This year we became a family of 91, hiring a grand total of 33 new employees across Sales, Marketing, HR, Technical Support and Senior Leadership, all to better serve our clients and partners.

Thank you to our new and existing team members, who have strengthened the team and helped us to achieve exciting new goals in the last 12 months. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you to everyone who made it to our Christmas parties in Las Vegas, Macedonia and London. We must say we heard a range of vocals during our Karaoke sessions, and we are sure the Coniq summer extravaganza will welcome more contenders to rival X-Factor!

We are proud to say that we foster a warm company culture, encouraging employees to be themselves and to flourish both professionally and personally. Hiring talented individuals worldwide and offering flexibility to be the best you can be whether you come from a “scrappy start-up“, you’re a new mum or a tech enthusiast, we want our employees to feel at home from day one.

Global expansion

This year we set our sights on developing our United States clientele and brand in the US market. We spotted a unique opportunity for Coniq technology to take retailers and malls to the next level. But, in order to do this we needed to set up a great team across the sea and that we did with a full office launch of our US team in sunny Miami!

Well done team US, we look forward to many more developments and growing numbers in 2022!

New tech and game-changing integrations

We launched the first of its kind Geo Loyalty solution, IQ Connect and deployed this solution to a number of clients. 

IQ Connect uses geofencing to simplify how retailers boost footfall, dwell time and sales by collecting and using real-time shopper location data to influence customer behaviour at every touchpoint in malls, stores and town centres.

It’s safe to say our clients loved it with major players successfully utilising our technology, including: Irgen Retail Management, Pradera and Heart of London Business Alliance – generating noteworthy results this year.

We also introduced several new integrations, and e-commerce developments – all to help clients better use our platform and generate exceptional customer experiences. 

These included developments with:

1. Wishibam (e-commerce)

2. Shopify (e-commerce)

3. Magento  (e-commerce)

4. LS Retail (Direct to POS integration)

1. Irgen Retail Management

Irgen Retail Management sought to increase footfall, sales and loyalty at its Cilento Outlet by developing and running a data-centric customer engagement strategy and program.

Results included:

  • Coniq launched Cilento Outlet’s loyalty program in a record breaking 10 weeks
  • 100% of retailers (70) participated in the unique loyalty program
  • Drove 1,100+ new mobile app sign-ups upon launch

2. The Mall Luxury Outlets

The Mall Luxury Outlets requested to go live with its new luxury, experience based loyalty program – The Mall Club – in under three months:

Results included:

• Launched an exciting new luxury loyalty program in just 10 weeks

• Developed and launched the first Lounge App to improve the in-lounge experience for high net worth guests

• 100% of brands participated in the successful program

3. CBRE

CBRE Investment Management desired to achieve an increase in footfall, customer engagement, and the implementation of a personalised loyalty at the Glacis-Galerie Neu-Ulm shopping centre.

Results included:

  • 79% of retailers participated in the unique loyalty program
  • 69% who visited or shopped at Glacis-Galerie were loyalty members

We were recognised and celebrated

It’s always nice to be celebrated and in July we were lucky enough to be recognised by the prestigious SaaS Awards. In recognition for helping physical retailers adopt new digital technologies needed to cost effectively acquire and retain more loyal customers faster, we were shortlisted as the ‘Best SaaS Newcomer’. A seal of approval that our latest innovations have quickly and impressively taken the retail industry by storm!
